Intergenerational Music Together classes are “regular” classes with all the benefits of Music Together for your family. What is special about this class that we get to sing, interact and make friends with the outer circle of “our Grandfriends” – residents of the retirement home.

Our class adds a much awaited and cherished splash of color, music and happy laughter to their week.

Our current intergenerational class is in Querencia on Barton Creek in the Memory Support Unit. I have been visiting and singing with the residents weekly for 3 years and am very proud to call them my friends -in fact they do not only remember me but are waiting for me and “the babies” every Friday morning.

They love  having visitors, seeing kind, happy faces – especially young ones.

I can’t wait to see the joy on their faces when the kids arrive, they love watching us make music  and often join us in the fun, too!

While from your children’s learning’s perspective this is a regular Music Together class. Yet, it is so much more! It has for both you and your child a community service element and I am very greatful for your partaking in it and share your musicality, love, beautiful children and yourselves with this wonderful group of senior citizens. Hopefully you will find it a rewarding experience interacting with the Grandfriends! There will be only one  class offered and enrollment is very limited, if you would like to join, do so soon, this one won’t last!
